For Teachers

The ability to build rapport and respect with students is fundamental to a teacher’s capability to successfully teach content.

As the complexity of students’ lives increase, due to factors such as family instability, encroaching technology and constant virtual connectedness, it is increasingly challenging for teachers to maintain student engagement in content, manage student behaviour and to engage families in the school community. The role of teachers has extended beyond educator. As teachers manage their day-to-day interactions with students, parents and colleagues, they must continually improve their communication, information gathering and analysis skills. NI GO’s suite of Professional Development courses offer teachers the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and capability to positively respond to the challenges they face and to enhance their professional effectiveness.

Our courses reflect a deep understanding of the real-world demands placed on the teaching profession, delivered in a way that provides teachers with the flexibility they need. See our current courses here, our course offering will be increasing soon.

Reading People

A teacher’s day is made up of constant interactions with people, some we know; students, students’ parents, colleagues, friends and family, and people we don’t know at all. Your ability to understand and account for why people behave the way they do is integral to your success at home and at work. This course provides you with an understanding of the science of the motivations and emotions that drive our interactions with others and a new way of viewing our ability to influence.

Art and Science of Interview

Whether you believe it or not, no matter what profession you are engaged in, you are interviewing people every day. While the term “Interview” has been associated with Human Resource Professionals, Journalists and Police Investigators, successful “Interviewing” is having a process and approach for gathering the information you need to do your job more effectively. Teachers are “Interviewing” constantly, they just don’t call it that. Teachers gather information on an ongoing and iterative basis, from students, parents, colleagues and their own families.”  Teachers also conduct interviews in the traditional sense, parent-teacher meetings. The Art and Science of Interview will provide you with an understanding of the psychology behind the sharing of information and the techniques required to conduct an effective interview.
